Bail set for murder suspects

Posted: Updated:

18-year-old Brian David Anderson and 17-year-old Trevor Kruthoff were in court Thursday.

They face murder charges in the death of 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau and attempted murder for allegedly shooting LeBeau's father, 48-year-old Jason LeBeau.

Anderson's bond is set for $1 million.

Prosecutors say because of the seriousness of the crime, a high bond was in order.

Deputy State's Attorney, Amanda Eden said, "We asked for a million dollars because we felt this was a serious crime and we thought that was an appropriate bond."

The defense says Kruthoff is a high school senior and has no history of violence.

The judge decided to set his bond at $500,000.

"Even though he is 17 years old the facts that are alleged here are certainly egregious." Eden continued.

In court, Eden said Kruthoff was a danger to the community.

"We always have concerns when crimes like this are committed that anybody could be a flight risk but based off what we have seen we just thought the million dollars was an appropriate bond." She said.

If Kruthoff is released on bail, the judge says he must be at his parents house or at school.
