Governor: Fly flags at half-staff through Monday

Posted: Updated:

South Dakota's governor requests flags be displayed at half-staff Friday through Monday at sunset.

President Obama called for flags to be flown half-staff nationally to honor the life of Nelson Mandela. Gov. Dennis Daugaard honored that request, asking all flags in the state to be half-staff Friday through Monday at sunset.

Flags will also be flown at half-staff in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Dec. 7.
