One injured in afternoon DWI accident

One person was injured in an afternoon DWI accident in Sioux Falls.

Police, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and Rural Metro Ambulance responded to the accident at the intersection of 41st Street and Kiwanis Avenue at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers discovered that a Subara Legacy was traveling south on Kiwanis Avenue when it went through a red light, struck a Pontiac Torrent and pushed that car into a Buick Century.

The drivers of the Pontiac and Buick suffered minor injuries. Francis Olson, the driver of the Subaru, was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Olson, 32, of Baltic, was also arrested for DWI - second and failure to stop at a red light.
