Sioux Falls man makes first appearance on hit-and-run charges
A Sioux Falls man accused of leaving the scene of an accident which left one woman with serious injuries made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
Mark S. Morris, 33, of Sioux Falls, was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, a felony charge.
Morris is accused of hitting a Sanford nurse as she crossed the street to work Monday. Reva M. Rezac, 58, was hit by a 2004 White Honda Civic as she crossed Grange Ave. at 21st St.
Rezac remains in critical condition, police said.
A watchful citizen is credited with helping Sioux Falls police find Morris Tuesday.
Sioux Falls police received a tip around 1 :00 p.m. Tuesday from a Sioux Falls resident. This person said they had located a car with front-end damage consistent with previous news releases. Responding officers determined this was the suspect vehicle and located the owner, Mark Morris, nearby.
