Three of five suspects in court for deadly shooting
New information is coming to light in a deadly northwest Sioux Falls shooting.
The incident earlier this month on Alaska Avenue remains under investigation.
Wednesday, three of the suspects appeared in court.
Trevor Kruthoff, Kevin James Rice, and Austin Kenneth Hogan made an appearance.
Kruthoff and Rice face charges including murder and attempted murder.
Hogan was charged with burglary and robbery.
All three entered a not guilty plea.
State's Attorney, Aaron McGowan said, "Out of this incident we currently have five co-defendants charged in a 23 count indictment. Various charges that are specific to each of those co-defendants."
The latest arrest was Austin Kenneth Hogan.
He is charged with burglary and robbery.
His friends were in court today and told KSFY News the alleged crimes do not sound like Hogan.
McGowan added, "We obviously indicted the people we thought we had probably cause on by this point. Like any criminal case it's an ongoing fluid investigation. There's always the possibility of additional charges or co-defendants to be brought in."
Hogan's friends told KSFY News he was with them at the time of the robbery and not with the other four suspects.
Trial dates have been set for the middle of March.
But McGowan thinks it will be pushed back.
"It would be uncommon for a case like this to go that early in the process with this many co-defendants and the magnitude of evidence and the case that needs to be developed and tested further." He said.
John Miller lives near the scene of the shooting.
He says the neighborhood is pretty much back to normal.
Another neighbor says it's shocking five arrests have been made.
She says it's tragic and they all feel for LeBeau's father, Jason, who was also shot during the robbery.
But she says she doesn't feel like the neighborhood is in any danger.
One neighbor added she wouldn't be surprised if more arrests are made as more details come out.
LeBeau's mother was also in court today, but she didn't want to comment at this time.
