Sanborn County Sheriff's office uses social media to help find missing Woonsocket woman

Posted: Updated:

The search continues for a missing Woonsocket woman.

Rachel Cyriacks was last seen at work on November 11th, but she hasn't been seen or heard from since.

The Sanborn County sheriff's office continues to follow leads.

We spoke with the Sanborn County sheriff and he told us DCI spoke with the her husband in Huron and they believe he doesn't know here whereabouts.

But many of her friends, as well as the sheriff have taken the search for Rachel online.

Former boyfriend Chris Larson and Sanborn County Sheriff Tom Fridley posted messages on Facebook to encourage people to keep looking for Rachel.

Sheriff Fridley tells us social media helps get more eyes focused on finding her, and her ex-boyfriend agrees.

"Put it out to the law enforcement and citizens, Facebook and the other connections  and hopefully they'll say she's staying with us or whatever," Sheriff Fridley said.

"I think it will help, I mean, if she's still around, she's on Facebook 24/7.  That's what's strange, I hadn't seen her on and she hasn't posted, but if she's trying to hide, which there's no reason why she'd need to hide, she's going to see it, all this stuff that all these people miss her," Larson said.

The sheriff tells us he and his deputies are chasing leads in Mitchell, Sioux Falls and Huron.
And while they have a lot of tips, he says it's discouraging because not one has lead to anything yet.
