Posted: Updated:

Sioux Falls police are looking for the driver of a car that hit a city snow plow Christmas morning.

Police say an officer tried to stop the car around 2:30 Wednesday morning near 8th Street and Cliff Avenue.  The driver sped away and the officer chose not to pursue the car.  The car was later spotted on 10th Street traveling westbound at a high rate of speed.  As the driver went to make a turn, he struck a city snow plow.

Police say the driver of the car and another passenger ran from the accident.  Another passenger was pinned in the car and stayed at the scene.  Eventually the other passenger returned to the scene of the accident.  Police say both passengers were intoxicated and were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police know who the driver is, but they have not located him yet.  The snow plow driver was not hurt, but plow has about $4000 in damages.
