Cold days call for hot drinks; but business was slow, Monday
While some headed into the cold for work, others dealt with it while working inside.
On a day as cold as this one, getting a hot drink might be at the top of your to-do list. Thank goodness for drive-thru, right?! That's exactly what people were taking advantage of at Coffea on Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls. We caught up with employees there who are well-equipped with gloves, hats and space heaters while working the drive-thru.
Coffea co-owner and CEO Jennifer Swanson says, ironically enough, even though schools were called off, business was slower than normal.
"In general, cold weather helps out business a lot but when it's this extreme, it really reduces our business. Probably like most places in Sioux Falls are pretty dead. We had someone come in earlier today saying 'wow, you're the busiest place I've seen' and there were only four customers in here. It was pretty dead, as it should be, people should be inside when it's this cold out," Jennifer Swanson said.
