It's been a few weeks since we opened our Christmas gifts.
And while things are likely getting back to normal, you're in for one last reminder of those holiday indulgences: December credit card statements are processing now.
If you're a little shocked by the total you racked up on gifts and goodies this past month, don't worry, there are things you can do to pay off the debt -- without adding more.
Start with a list of all your current balances -- then re-calculate your monthly expenses.
And find places in your budget to make reductions because you'll want to use as much income as possible toward debt repayment.
"You don't want to add any additional debt while you're trying to pay off debt," LSS community relations coordinator Marley Prunty-Lara said. "We really encourage people once they are on a plan to pay off a debt, that they stay on that plan and don't add anything extra."
If you're still feeling overwhelmed with holiday debt, Lutheran Social Services has some resources to help you.
