The snowfall and added wind has made for quite a headache during Thursday night's rush hour and for some, the Friday morning commute.
Sioux Falls streets crews are working hard to make sure it's a safe one.
Streets Manager Galynn Huber says it hasn't been the snow causing the problem, it's more the wind.
"This is the first time in 8 years I've been down here I've seen the winds in 35-40mph range consistently and gusting in the 60mph range. I don't think I've ever had those type of conditions in a snow storm before and that's what is making everything so treacherous," Galynn Huber said.
Since midnight Thursday, plows have turned their attention to ZONE 3 which is the outlying area of the city. At 8:00 a.m., Friday, plows began working ZONE 2 and at 8:00 p.m., Friday night, ZONE 1 plowing begins toward the downtown area.
If you have a car parked on the street, you're asked to move it so crews can move snow more efficiently and make the roads safer for everyone.
