High speed chase ends with roll over in residential Mitchell neighborhood

Posted: Updated:

An early morning car chase in Mitchell Saturday brought a vehicle plowing through a residential area at speeds up to 60 miles per hour.

The chase finally ended at the intersection of Wisconsin and Elm Street, one block north of Havens Street.

The Driver hit a snow bank, then crashed into a utility pole, pick up truck, car, fence and tree, finally landing upside down in Kris Whitlage's yard.

Whitlage said its terrifying to think what could have happened if the crash occurred during the day when her 8-year-old frequently plays right in the area the car crashed.

The driver of the car is Mitchell resident Trevor Kohlrus. After fleeing on foot from the crash, he was captured and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The chief deputy with the Davison County Sheriff's department said alcohol was involved. Charges are still pending.
