Are you ready to answer a couple of questions about the city of Sioux Falls?
The city is one of seven sponsors involved in a survey called "Sioux Falls Tomorrow".
What does the growing city of Sioux Falls need?
The "Sioux Falls Tomorrow" survey is a quick 16 questions.
Some of what they want to know: has the quality of life in Sioux Falls improved over the last three years? Sioux Falls resident Jamie Kalkman tells us, "Absolutely. I think that with the town growing and with the downtown getting bigger and more local businesses thriving, I think it has gotten a lot better."
The survey also asks "What is the most important issue facing Sioux Falls right now?" We asked Sioux Falls resident Molly Oien for her thoughts. "I think entertainment places. Something my husband and I have talked about is if we had a place...I know they have The District now....which is great. But kind of a mid-sized place where they could actually have concerts and I think that would encourage a lot of young people to attend those shows."
This survey also wants to know if people in Sioux Falls are respectful of ethnic and cultural diversity. Listen to what Rebecca Gehm told us, "I sure hope so. because I see a plethora of diversity here...from what I have seen, people get along pretty, pretty well."
And it also touches on the issue of police and fire service in the city by asking do you feel safe living in the Sioux Falls area? Micah Schiller lives on the west side and says, "I feel like my neighbors are friendly. They keep to themselves. I have never felt threatened. I think...yeah ...the Sioux falls area in general seems to be pretty safe especially for the size and for how many people live here."
The results of this survey will help the city is planning everything from future bike trails and parks to new roads.
