Three Sioux Falls Police officers injured during domestic dispute

Three Sioux Falls police officers and two family members were injured by a Sioux Falls man early this morning.

Police responded to the domestic dispute call around 7 a.m. at 3205 N. Lewis Ave. Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said a 17-year-old boy escaped the house and alerted a neighbor to call 911.

In the attempt to arrest Rocky Thomas Traversie, Jr. for allegedly beating his mother, three officers were injured. All of their injuries are non-life threatening.

Traversie was charged with three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement, five counts of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated domestic assault.
