Posted: Updated:

New details emerge in the case of a man accused of assaulting his mother, his sister and three police officers.

Rocky Traversie Jr. also faces more charges Thursday.

Police believe Rocky Traversie had been using drugs, not only during the past few days, but also on the morning of his alleged attack on his family and officers.

Traversie was in court Thursday and he can now add possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to distribute to his long list of charges.

And we have new details about the injuries the three officers suffered while trying to arrest Traversie.

Sioux Falls police officer Sam Clemens said "one officer that had a concussion, one officer had a broken eye socket, and another officer had his should dislocated and might have some possible knee injury but we're still waiting to check on that, they're all releases from the hospital but none of them are back to work yet."

But those officers are expected to be able to return back to work soon.

Here's another look at the charges Traversie faces in court.

  • possession of a controlled substance
  • possession with intent to distribute
  • three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement
  • five counts of kidnapping
  • and two counts of aggravated domestic assault

Police say they haven't found the brick Rocky Traversie allegedly used to hit his mother and sister.

His mom ended up with a knee injury and was limping.

And his sister had a knot on her head.

But they didn't seek medical attention.
