Minnesota 14-year-old steals & crashes school bus

Posted: Updated:

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (AP) - Police say a young teen stole an idling school bus and later crashed it in Roseville.
Authorities say the school bus owned by Centerline Charters of Maplewood, was left running at a St. Paul gas station Monday morning when the boy jumped on board. Police say he took it on a two-mile ride before he was apprehended by police.
The bus was empty. Police say the boy said he thought the bus was abandoned and was trying to return it.
The bus driver had stopped for coffee at the gas station around 7:50 a.m. She immediately called her boss, and the bus company activated the onboard GPS to track it down.
The joyride ended when the 14-year-old boy crashed the bus at another gas station in Roseville.
