Bosworth raises $315K in 4Q but debt exceeds cash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Republican Senate candidate Annette Bosworth's latest Federal Election Commission filing shows she had nearly $250,000 cash on hand at the end of the year but owed $255,000 in debt, mostly to direct mail companies.

FEC documents posted Tuesday show that the Sioux Falls physician took in just more than $315,000 in contributions during the final three months of the year. More than $230,000 of the contributions to Bosworth's campaign is not itemized because the donors gave less than $200.

Bosworth is one of five Republicans seeking the party's nomination for the seat being vacated by Sen. Tim Johnson. Her GOP opponents are former Gov. Mike Rounds, state Rep. Stace Nelson of Fulton, state Sen. Larry Rhoden of Union Center and Yankton attorney and Army Reserves major Jason Ravnsborg.
