Brewhaha, the annual fundraiser for the REACH literacy program (formerly the Sioux Falls Area Literacy Council) is this Saturday, February 22nd at the Museum of Visual Arts in Sioux Falls.
All proceeds from the event help fund a one-on-one tutoring program for adults in the area that cannot read. In the U.S., 63 million adults — 29 percent of the country's adult population —over age 16 can not read well enough to understand a newspaper story written at the eighth grade level.
The goal of the REACH program is to provide individualized reading, writing, and life skills tutoring that empowers adults in the Sioux Empire to reach their potential.
You can help by joining in the Brewhaha fundraiser this weekend while enjoying beer tasting, storytelling and socializing. The event is this Saturday, February 22nd from 7pm-10pm at the Museum of Visual Materials. Purchase your tickets at siouxfallsliteracy.com.
