Seniors and seniors celebrate prom

Posted: Updated:

Folks at Prince of Peace Retirement Home and O'Gormon High School students were shaking their groove things.

This annual "Senior Prom" is an event for all ages, bring two generations together for a night of dancing and socializing.

Max and Carol Dreier have been dancing together  for 13 years now -- since they got married.

"Neither of our first spouses danced so when we got together, we danced," said Max.

First on the dance floor, it's here at the Senior Prom that they get to show off their moves.

"Well we know how to do the Waltz and the Polka and Two-Step. That's about our repertoire," said Max.

The Dreier's even taught the high schoolers how to Waltz -- after the Chicken Dance, of course.

"I have no idea how to dance so I'm just playing along having some fun," said Tiegen Lindner, O'Gormon High School sophomore.

Lindner was working the room.

"It's funny because we're younger and kind of doing formals right now so it's cool how they can see us how are and how they were when they danced," said Lindner.

Although there were a few newer tunes played by the D.J., there were some throwback to when the Dreier's were around the same age as Lindner.

"We've asked them to play more of the music we like so they can experience it," said Carol.

The Dreier's say they're always first on the dance floor every year because they don't want others to be shy.
