SF Police: Slick roads cause more than 30 accidents

Posted: Updated:

Sioux Falls roads have done little in the way of improving over the course of Monday afternoon and evening making things very slick and dangerous for drivers.

Sioux Falls Police say there were more than 36 weather-related accidents since noon.

It's not just a challenge for cars on city streets but on the interstates as well. Earlier, we caught up with some truck drivers at the Flying-J truck stop who were taking a rest from I-29. While they make a living driving long distances, they say this weather never makes their job any easier.

"My company would rather you shut down, wait, but it depends on the driving. There's so many people out there who don't even drive in it," truck driver Logan North said. "My concern is everyone else. You try and predict what everyone else does. Making sure you don't get hit."

Crews from the SD Department of Transportation and City of Sioux Falls have been out in full force all afternoon and evening to make sure our overnight and morning commute is safe.
