Max Gors, prominent legal figure in South Dakota, dies at 67
Max Gors, one of South Dakota's prominent legal figures, died yesterday. He was 67.
Gors most recently acted as the Hughes County State's Attorney, but he resigned in April of 2013 for health reasons.
Over Gors' decades-long career, he presided over South Dakota's parole board, served as an acting justice on the South Dakota Supreme Court and set a somewhat controversial precedent in a 2002 child custody cases by allowing the teenage boy to decide his own fate.
