3 Frisbee team members killed in Minnesota crash

Posted: Updated:

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (AP) - Neither alcohol or excessive speed appear to be factors in a crash that killed three Minnesota college students, who were members of one of the nation's top Ultimate Frisbee teams.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said at a news conference Saturday that a sports utility vehicle with five men inside lost control on the icy road Friday.

Roeske said the SUV slid sideways into the path of an oncoming semitrailer near Northfield.

All three killed were students at Carleton College, based in Northfield.

The State Patrol identified the deceased as 20-year-old James P. Adams, of St. Paul, Minn.; 21-year-old Paxton M. Harvieux of Stillwater, Minn.; and 20-year-old Michael D. Goodgame, of Westport, Conn.

Two others in the SUV were also injured.
