City of Sioux Falls hosts public meeting

Posted: Updated:

In 2011, Sioux Falls City Council held a series of meetings informing people about the possibility of an events center. The Denny Sanford Premier Center will open in the fall.

Monday, the Council again decided to hold another series of meetings to educate voters. The April 8th ballot will include two initiated measures and two referred laws, including snow gates, construction of a pool complex at Spellerberg Park, the Shape Places Ordinance, and commercial zoning at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

"(This is) only and solely education. People need to know what they're voting on. And, then be able to make up their own mind. It's very hard to make up your own mind unless you have accurate and concise information about each one of the ballot issues," said City Councilor Rex Rolfing.

The next public meeting will be Monday, March 10th at the Oyate Community Center on West 15th Street.
