Virginia university removes South Dakota campus references

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The University of Northern Virginia's website has removed references to its new main campus in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The school was shut down by the state of Virginia last year for lacking accreditation amid suspicion that its primary function was to allow those enrolled to obtain visas. Rather than shut its doors completely, the school announced it was heading west.

The Sioux Falls campus is an empty office suite, and the South Dakota Attorney General's Office says it's investigating a complaint. The school's winter 2014 schedule still says "Sioux Falls."

University of Northern Virginia received a postsecondary education certificate in South Dakota in October because of an affiliate agreement with an accredited institution, IGlobal University. IGlobal canceled that agreement in December.

The school's Annandale, Va., number says "out of service."
