The Aberdeen Regional Airport is going to try and add a little excitement to its walls. The airport has hired Aberdeen artists Nick and Nicole Fischer to paint a mural to place on the wall in the airport's center waiting room. The mural will depict Aberdeen's history.
"They found a space that they wanted a mural in. Then they sent out a call for artists to put in proposals for the mural. They basically said they wanted something to do with Aberdeen history," Nick said.
Artists from all over the country applied for the job. The Fischer's sent in two proposals, and the airport chose them. Their proposal included several things involving Aberdeen, from the men who named the city, to Dorothy's red slippers.
They hope to have the mural finished in the month of April.
