The Huron Tigers find themselves in the top seed of the 2014 State AA basketball tournament after posting a 21-1 record this season.
The Tigers are led by senior big men Justin Decker and Caleb Carr.
Decker is averaging 15 points and nearly 9 rebounds a game while Carr is putting up 13 and 8. The pair have been causing matchup problems for teams all year long.
"Well they're a tough matchup because both of them can shoot the three and both of them can take the ball to the rim and both of them can post up very well." says head coach Tim Buddenhagen
But they are just two of seven seniors who are looking to bring the state title back to Huron for the first time in ten years.
"We've been playing with each other forever, and this is just how we want to go out. Win one more state championship." says senior Justin Decker.
"I mean it would be big. All of us have been playing together since 6th or 7th grade so we've been playing together for a long time trying to get to this point." says senior Caleb Carr.
"It's been easy to coach. Those seven seniors know what we're trying to do. We put in a game plan they tell us their ideas and we try to incorporate that as much as possible." says Buddenhagen.
Their first test will be against a tough Sioux Falls Lincoln team, who comes into the tournament having won 7 of their last 10 games.
"It feels good having the one seed but we have a tough matchup in Sioux Falls Lincoln so that should be a good game we have been excited to play them for a while." says Carr.
"They're very athletic very talented well coached shoot the ball very well are physical in the inside so we figure we got our work cut out for us." says Buddenhagen.
But the Tigers hope their great play this season can carry them three more games to a state championship. In Huron, Patrick Hills, KSFY Sports
