Sioux Falls music teacher, diagnosed with breast cancer, celebrates life

Posted: Updated:

Last May, KSFY News spoke with a Sioux Falls music teacher who blogged about her battle with breast cancer.

It was a year ago Thursday when Amy Morrison was diagnosed.

She's now cancer free and will finish her yearlong treatment on April 3rd.

But now, she's directing a musical of "101 Dalmatians" at the Orpheum Theatre. And she continues to celebrate life and do what she loves.

"I feel like life has continued to move on. Life doesn't stop just because you get diagnosed with cancer. This is actually the fifth show I've done over the course of this last year and as I told my audience right before I started, these are life-giving to me, to be able to continue to do what I love to do, despite what life throws at you," Morrison said.

Amy tells us she already started working on her next production, "Les Miserables."
