L Couture Fashion Show raises money for Jacob Beier Cure Kids Cancer Fund

Posted: Updated:

A new clothing boutique in Sioux Falls opened in a big way Friday by working to raise funds for local kids battling cancer.

The new L Couture Boutique held a fashion show at Icon Lounge Friday, raising funds for the Jacob Beier Fund and Cure Kids Cancer.

Donations were accepted throughout the runway show, followed by a vendor sale with some of the same clothes and jewelry. A portion of the evening's sales also went to the Cure Kids Cancer fund.

Lori Dykstra opened L Couture Boutique in Sioux Falls just this month, but decided to use her new business to help support a charity close to her heart. Her son Jacob lost his battle to cancer at the age of five.

Over the past 10 years since his passing, Dykstra and her family have formed the Jacob Beier Fund, raising more than $30,000 for local children battling cancer.

Dykstra hopes Friday's event at Icon Lounge will add another $10,000 to that total, all in an effort to help other families battling this disease.

You can stop by L Couture Boutique on Louise Avenue between Puerto Vallarta and CoCo Palace Restaurants to check out the new clothing line and also learn more about supporting the Jacob Beier Cancer Fund.
