Murray County Medical Center in Slayton, Minnesota hires interim CEO

Posted: Updated:

More changes are coming to the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton, Minnesota.

Several staff members, including the CEO have already quit.

Just two days ago, the hospital board and county commissioners met with people in the community to hear their concerns.

Many people have contacted us with concerns about what's going on at the hospital.

And it's true, several doctors and medical providers have already resigned.

But an interim CEO has been hired.

And hospital leaders hope it's the start of better days ahead.

The Murray County Medical Center has seen a lot of changes.

One mid-level provider left last year, another quit this year, and one more mid-level provider plans to leave in May.

There was also a doctor who left in October to go work part time some place else.

Throughout so much turnover, an interim CEO is being brought in to hopefully cure what ails this hospital.

Murray County Medical Center CFO Renee Logan said "John Osse has a lot of experience, he's been interim CEO in a lot of facilities and is an experienced CEO."

"I think there's a lot of emotions out there, people like to go to their own providers, and so I think  that's the biggest concern with what really is happening right now and I just feel that we can bring this community back together," Logan added.

The hospital's  chief financial officer tells us it's interim CEO has a lot of experience in working with hospitals in transition.

Osse starts the first week of April and he certainly will have his work cut out for him.
