The suspect in Sioux Falls' first homicide of 2014 was formally indicted on 10 charges.
Christopher Kryger faces five counts of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder, two counts of rape and 2 counts of burglary.
He's being held on a million dollar bond, the clerk of courts says. Paperwork was filed to charge Kryger as a habitual offender, as well.
Kryger faces life in prison or execution for the murder of 56-year-old Kari Kirkegaard.
He'll be in court again for arraignment on Monday.
