Posted: Updated:
Sioux Falls Public Works suggests drivers leave early Monday, April 14. Several major road projects are getting underway that morning.

10th Street and Sycamore Avenue

The intersection of 10th Street and Sycamore Avenue will be reconstructed, adding right turn lanes and dual left turn lanes in all directions. On Monday, work will begin on the south side of Arrowhead Parkway and east side of Sycamore Avenue. One lane of traffic will be maintained in all directions. The project has a completion date of October 3.

Russell Street

The eastbound lanes of Russell Street from Westport Avenue to Minnesota Avenue will begin being reconstructed. To accomplish the first phase of the work, the south half of the Kiwanis Avenue and Russell Street intersection will be closed, and two-way traffic from Westport Avenue to West Avenue will be placed in the westbound lanes of Russell Street. Kiwanis Avenue at Russell Street will be closed for about 45 days. Traffic will be directed to use Louise Avenue, Madison Street, and Western Avenue while the intersection is closed.

The completion date for Russell Street from Westport Avenue to West Avenue is August 15. The overall completion date is November 21.

41st Street and Theodore Avenue

The intersection of 41st Street and Theodore Avenue will be closed to traffic. Access will  be maintained to area businesses. This part of the larger 41st Street project should be done by the end of April.

West 12th Street

Concrete repairs will begin on West 12th Street from Carolyn Avenue to Kiwanis Avenue. The first phase of work will begin on the outside eastbound lanes at Carolyn Avenue and proceed toward Kiwanis Avenue.

Traffic delays are to be expected for all of these projects. For more information, follow the link provided.
