Iowa City couple accused of tying up young child

Posted: Updated:

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- An Iowa City couple facing drug charges has been accused of tying up a young child and using a stun gun on him.
Court documents show 27-year-old Luis F. Chavez-Preciado and 25-year-old Nasra L. Fernandez-Kury were charged with child endangerment after the boy was found in a closet during a search of their residence last year.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports the couple is accused of using a stun gun on the child, whom authorities say appeared to be under the age of five. They're also accused of keeping large quantities of drugs in the presence of Fernandez-Kury's three children.
The couple was arrested Sunday and remains at the Muscatine County Jail. Court records do not list attorneys.
