Two Sheldon residents are behind bars today.

An 11 month long joint investigation between the Sheldon Police Department and the Iowa State Fire Marshall's Office into the 05-14-13 fire which destroyed theBuddz's Sports Bar and Grill in Sheldon, Iowa, has resulted in the arrest of two Sheldon residents on charges of arson.

On April 10, criminal complaints were filed in O'Brien County District Court charging Kristina Manasil, age 36, and Adam Sickles, age 36, both from Sheldon, Iowa, with two counts each of Arson in the First Degree.

Arrest warrants were issued by the Court and on April 16 Sheldon Police Officers arrested Manasil and Sickles without incident.  Both defendants were taken into custody and transported to the O'Brien County Jail where bail has been set in the amount of $25,000.

Arson in the First Degree is a Class B felony, punishable by an indeterminate 25 year prison term.

The Sheldon Police Department wants to remind the public that a criminal charge is merely an accusation and that all persons are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
