A group of fifth graders at Fred Assam Elementary in Brandon were each given $5 and had to write about what they did with the money -- but they didn't do what you would expect.
The kids pooled their money and had a bouncy house come in. Then they charged everyone who wanted to play $3. They plan to donate the profits to the Sanford Children's Hospital.
The kids ordered the inflatables from Carolan Rental. The original plan was for a small bounce house, but when the rental store heard what the students had planned, it donated two huge obstacle courses.
And once word got out this was how the kids decided to spend their money, Graham Automotive donated an extra $300.
Teachers at Fred Assam say they're incredibly proud of the kids.
"Some of the kids even came up and asked 'Can we work? We don't even want to jump, we just want to work because we see how much fun everyone else is having'," Noel Sunne, a 5th grade teacher, said. "I think they've learned the value of working for others and giving."
Sunne added it's great to see the community support the students.
