A man is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash near Baltic, according to Minnehaha County authorities.
It happened just before 1:00 p.m., Sunday, on the corner of 477th Avenue and 254th Street. A passerby found the man lying face down in the road. He was unconscious, bleeding but he was breathing. He was riding eastbound on 254th Street when he allegedly lost control near 477th Avenue. The Sheriff's Office is looking into the crash and what made him lose control.
He was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital from the scene. The Sheriff's Office said he was wearing a helmet.
We caught up with a man who lives nearby and heard the crash not too far away.
"I was coming back from church, opening my garage door to wash my motorcycle to take it for a spin today. Then I heard a crash. By the time I got to the road, I saw people gathered on the road, did what I could," Lane McKenney said. "It makes me nervous, wonder what happened. It makes you think."
