Two Sioux Falls stores fail alcohol compliance check

Posted: Updated:
Sioux Falls police say two stores failed an alcohol compliance check on Monday.

The department visited 24 businesses.  Twenty-two passed the check.  The two businesses that did not pass the check were Sunshine Food Market, 530 South 2nd Avenue and Walgreens on 1806 South Minnesota Avenue.

The clerks who sold alcohol were cited for furnishing alcohol to someone 18-21 years old.  Both clerks must now make a mandatory court appearance.  Businesses that fail the compliance check face possible fines and suspension of their liquor license.
