A family on the 2300 block of Blauvelt Ave. woke up to quite a scene early this morning.
A driver lost control and came crashing through the garage into his own home.
The driver lives with his uncle.
KSFY News spoke with the uncle, he told us the house was not his biggest concern because the car hit right next to his girls' bedroom, so he said he is just happy that everyone is safe.
As soon as he heard the bang he met his girls by the door, but he could not believe his eyes when he saw the mess.
William Daldoum said the room was filled with dust and it smelled like gas.
The smell was so strong he thought the house was going to blow up; so they got out.
That is when his nephew found him and said he lost control and hit the house.
Daldoum said he does not care about the home, because it can be replaced.
But he is holding his girls a little closer today, because it happened so close to where they were sleeping.
"Their bed where they were sleeping was destroyed, as you can see. It was a miracle that they are alive and I'm really thankful," said Daldoum.
Daldoum and his family are being helped by the red cross.
They are staying in a hotel and are looking around for a more permanent place to live.
The driver, was 21-year-old Givari Zaki.
He was cited for reckless driving.
Police say alcohol was not involved, and no one was hurt.
