Police in Worthington, MN, are investigating a possible murder/suicide at the Crossroads Care Center nursing home Friday night.
At 9.55 p.m. Friday, the Worthington Police Department received a 911 call from Crossroads Care Center Staff who heard gunshots fired in a private room in the facility.
Officers responded to a private care room in the facility and found eighty-seven year old George Doust lying on a bed with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head and eighty-six-year old Doris Doust lying on an adjacent bed with a gunshot wound to her head. A handgun was recovered in the room.
George Doust is a Worthington resident and Doris Doust resided at Crossroads Care Center.
Worthington Police Officers, Nobles County Deputies and Sanford Ambulance personnel performed first aid on both of the injured.
George and Doris Doust were both transported to Worthington Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Sioux Falls where they were later pronounced dead.
The Worthington Police Department is investigating the incident and has notified family members.
