Volunteers pick up trash along central railroad corridor in Sioux Falls

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers in Central Sioux Falls came out to pick up trash and other debris along the Ellis and eastern railroad Saturday morning.

"We did this last year and its just amazing the amount of debris and stuff that is littered throughout the railroad area," said volunteer Michael Williams.

Volunteers say they found things like syringes, discarded clothing and even large items like mattresses.

Neighborhood associations in the downtown area say cleaning up the railroad area goes a long way to help the beautification of the downtown community.
