Duck Derby to support South Dakota Voices for Children

Posted: Updated:

You have the chance to participate in Sioux Falls' first ever downtown Duck Derby to support the South Dakota Voices for Children, May 17th. Organizers with the event are adopting out 10,000 ducks to float down the river for the cause. The first 10 to cross the finish line win some big prizes.

All proceeds benefit SD Voices for Children which, according to its website, is the only multi-issue child advocacy organization in the state. When action needs to be taken on behalf of children, Voices for Children is there.

The race will start at 11:00 a.m. May 17th at the River Greenway and include family fun activities like face painting, food vendors, and mascots. The ducks will be dropped into the river off the 8th street bridge and begin racing at noon.

Adopt your ducks ahead of time at various Sioux Falls locations from $5-$100+.
