The Sioux Falls woman who owned an in-home daycare where a child died will spend 10 days in jail on neglect charges.
Constance Joy Edwards, 53, pleaded guilty in March to misdemeanor child neglect charges for leaving teens in charge of her over-capacity daycare. In 2011, 4-month-old Meredith Ulmer died while Edwards was away.
Just before 5 this afternoon, a judge sentenced Edwards to one year in jail for the child neglect charge and another year for false reporting, but the judge suspended all but ten days for both charges.
