PIERRE -- A Rosebud couple and their son who pleaded guilty to charges in a federal wire fraud case have been ordered to pay restitution totaling nearly half a million dollars.

Fifty-five-year-olds Shannon Running and Norman Running and 35-year-old Norman Running Jr. were accused of fleecing people in California through a scheme involving a bogus inheritance. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says the parents pleaded guilty to conspiracy and the son to larceny.

Shannon Running was sentenced to four years and three months in custody, and about $406,000 in restitution. Both the elder and younger Norman Runnings were sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to pay a total of about $46,000.
