Zumba Glow Party to benefit the Compass Center, Thursday

Posted: Updated:

If you want to get a good workout for a great cause, check out the Zumba Glow Party at the District in Sioux Falls.

The event will benefit the Compass Center which, according to staff, is dedicated to ending the cycle of violence in our community. On May 15th, the Compass Center is partnering with Dawn Szymik, Zumba Instructor at The District, to host a Zumbathon for The Compass Center.

They say the goal is to create community awareness of the programs and services The Compass Center provides to our region. Domestic violence, sexual assault and most recently, human trafficking have become more prevalent in our community over the past couple years. As an agency, The Compass Center also strives educate the community on these topics so that victims are no longer afraid to stay silent. It has seen an increase in the amount of services provided to our community and has seen decreased funding. They hope the event can both create awareness for the agency and raise funds.

The event is Thursday, May 15 at the District (4521 W. Empire Place)

It begins at 6:00 p.m. and runs through 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15, at the door only. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m.
