I continue to test yet another "As Seen on TV" product to see if they really work. We we all know pasta,l albeit delicious, isn't the best thing to eat if we are trying to shed some pounds. So if you could cut calories by replacing those starchy noodles with vitamin rich vegetables would you?
The Veggetti is supposed to be our dieting God send. Here's what the commercial claims:
"Veggetti is the fast, easy way to turn veggies into delicious spaghetti in seconds! Zucchini and squash are healthier than traditional pasta and have a delicious taste and perfect texture when sliced in the Veggetti! The Veggetti allows you to cut thin spaghetti size or thick fettuccini size zucchini noodles. The secret is the 12 ultra-sharp stainless steel blades make slicing effortless!"
Shawn and I tested a zucchini in the Veggetti. Both ends worked exactly as the commercial said it would. We also tried a russet potato that you can use this contraption for homemade hash browns and it worked for that too.
I tried spaghetti squash since it's known for making noodles, but it did not work in the Veggetti. The skin is too tough so we cut that off and it still wouldn't slice. I think a skinny yellow squash would work excellent just like the zucchini.
I found this product at the Walgreen's on 26th & Minnesota in Sioux Falls for $14 and it works!!
