Memorial services planned for Crazy Horse CEO

Services are planned to celebrate the life of Ruth Ziolkowski, CEO of the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. Ziolkowski died of cancer this week. She was 87.

There will be a public viewing from 11 to 3 May 26 in the studio of the original log home built by Ruth and her husband, Korczak, when they started carving the memorial in 1948. Admission fees will be waived.

A memorial will begin at 10 in the morning on May 27. Services are open to the public, and admission fees will be waived from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has requested that flags be flown at half-staff statewide on the day of her funeral.
