If you're looking for a challenge, get in good shape and make a difference in the Sioux Falls community, the Roller Dollz will be hosting a summer boot camp which begins Wednesday May 28th and runs through the end of July. The best part? No experience is necessary!
Boot camp will be held at the Armory Building on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds on all nights except for the first one, to be held at Sherman Skate Park due to RibFest set-up at the Fairgrounds.
The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz is a skater owned and operated, not-for-profit organization and a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Leaders say they work together as a league to empower women and enrich our community through competitive sport. Through generous monetary donations and volunteering of time, both on and off the track, they strive to improve our community while providing a unique entertainment opportunity suitable for everyone. They are a league comprised of women from all walks of life and demonstrate that women can be strong and independent and excel in a competitive sports world. To date the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz have contributed nearly $50,000 to local charities and organizations.
Derby Boot camp is a chance for the public to join in the fun and see what the Roller Dollz are all about!
Team announcer, otherwise known in the rink as 'Destructive D-Lite' Joy Falencik and a few skaters joined KSFY's Courtney Collen Wednesday on KSFY Morning News for a preview.
