Pavilion Spotlight: D-Day showing at the CineDome

Posted: Updated:
General Dwight Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which "we will accept nothing less than full victory"

Right now, the Washington Pavilion's CineDome is showing D-Day, a 40 minute documentary narrated by South Dakota native Tom Brokaw.

"The movie D-Day as it's told with this story is very much a documentary, dealing with the technical aspects of where they landed, why they landed, which bridges they took out, why they took those bridges out," said the Pavilion's Vice President of Operations.

Brokaw said he was drawn to the project to tell the story of D-Day in a new way that gives clarity to one of the most important events in the history of mankind.

Since May 1st, D-Day has been showing at ten every morning. On June 6th there will be multiple opportunities to see the film.

"On the 70th anniversary we will host that movie five times on the 6th and five times on the 7th," said Loos. "During that time frame veterans will get to get in and see the movie for free."
