Woman pinned, dies when child driver loses control

A 30-year-old Aberdeen woman died after being pinned between two vehicles as she was directing an 8-year-old to back a vehicle out of a driveway. Authorities say Brianne Nutter died Tuesday afternoon when the child driver lost control of the vehicle and pinned her to a parked vehicle. 

The accident happened at the 1400 block of Plum Lane. Neighbors say the child driving the car was Nutter's daughter. There were witnesses at the scene. They called 911.There were witnesses at the scene.

"Witnesses said the car was backing out of the driveway with the young girl operating it. She apparently lost control to some level, and the victim was pinned between the car that was backing up and a car that was parked on the street," Sgt. Jay Tobin said.

The Aberdeen police department got the call at about noon on Tuesday. "Officers responded with an ambulance and arrived at the scene and found the victim on the roadway," Tobin said.

Police officers say this is something they've never seen in Aberdeen."This is a rare occurrence I think. I have been here 26 years and this is the first time I ave encountered this type of accident where there is a fatality," Tobin said.

According to Brown County coroner, Mike Carlsen, Nutter died from internal injuries.
