A 5-year-old is recovering after a close call in Spencer Park in Sioux Falls.
Police say they responded to a possible drowning call shortly after 5:00 p.m. Friday evening.
According to investigators, a child was playing in flood waters at the park when the child stepped off a drop-off in the middle of a temporary pond and became completely submerged. The child was pulled from the water, and someone nearby performed CPR.
Officers say when they arrived, the child was alert and crying. The child was taken to a hospital and was found to be in stable condition.
