Heavy rains pound Sioux Falls and surrounding communities

Posted: Updated:
Monday brought torrential rain to Sioux Falls and communities across southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa.
All that rain in a short amount of time left many streets flooded.  There was also hail reported on the east side of town.
People still decided to drive through the flooded roads but some people found themselves stranded. Near Madison Street and Western Avenue by the Denny Sanford Premier Center, a power pole toppled over.  There were some power outages in the area.  Some stop lights were out completely and others were flashing yellow.

Xcel crews and Sioux Falls police were out there trying to get it fixed. The streets in that area were also flooded which didn't help the crews at all. Since there has been so much rain in just the past few days there's just no where else for it to go.
