Interstate 29 remains closed south of Sioux Falls this morning because of flash flooding, and officials are evaluating when the highway can be re-opened.

I-29 is closed to southbound traffic between Exits 73 and 59. I-29 is closed to northbound between Exits 57 and 62.

S.D. Highway 11 is closed to traffic south of Brandon and north of Madison Street. U.S. Highway 18 is closed to traffic from I-29 to the Vermillion River on the west side of Davis. S.D. Highway 46 is closed east of Centerville.

Officials say roads will be re-opened after water recedes, debris has been removed and the roadways are inspected to assure safe travel conditions.

Numerous other roads in the area south of Sioux Falls may have standing or flowing water on the surface this morning. Motorists are urged to travel with caution and to visit or to call 511 to check latest road conditions in their area.
